"I'm Alright...Nobody Worry 'Bout Me"
Murray One-Ups All Other Celebrity Drunks
In a shameless display of celebrity excess, actor/comedian/golfer Bill Murray is the latest in a long line of Hollywood elite to be cited for drunk driving. In accordance with the actor’s off beat, ironic style Murray was “pulled over” Wednesday on the streets of downtown Stockholm in a GOLF CART.
Having “borrowed” the cart (not intended for guest use) from the Swedish course at which he was playing a tournament, Murray apparently decided to get a bite to eat at the Café Opera in the heart of the Swedish capitol. Buzzing around the downtown area in a drunken stupor (probably still trying to find that fiendish and elusive gopher) the striking profile and thunderous roar of his street-illegal vehicle attracted some unwanted attention. Clearly inebriated, the aging funnyman was chased down and halted by the vigilant local law. He then refused to take a “breathalyzer” test, reportedly babbling about U.S. legislation, evidently unaware that he was in the clutches of a foreign authority.
The golf course from which Murray stole the cart says they do not begrudge him the theft of the tiny vehicle, but the Stockholm police did take a blood sample and are waiting for the results to come in before fining or possibly jailing Mr. Murray.
