The White Elephant Film Blogathon!
The submissions are in! Updated 4/7
The first annual White Elephant Film Blogathon has finally arrived and with it a new look for our site. It's still early in the day but a couple submissions have already rolled in.
After Andrew and I reviewed some pretty terrible films for April Fools Day last year, (The Garbage Pail Kids: The Movie and No Retreat, No Surrender) we figured it would be nice to subject our fellow bloggers to the same sort of pain we went through. With that in mind, the White Elephant Film Blogathon was born. Participants submitted the title of a film they wanted to see reviewed and were then assigned a film that had been submitted by another participant. Hopefully everyone who participated had fun and next year I can do a better job organizing it and we can get more people involved.
Unfortunately, because of all the time I spent on the redesign of the site my own review for the blogathon isn't quite finished yet but will be soon. However, I would like to say that whoever it is that submitted The End is a sick sick person. *shudder*
Anyway, here's what we've got so far. Enjoy!
- Hedwig (who is as cool as fruitstand) is swept off her feet by William Holden in Picnic.
- Edward Copeland shoots an elephant in his pants and reviews Purple Rain.
- Steven Carlson's takes a break from his ongoing cinematic education to enjoy Pauly Shore's Bio-Dome.
- Filmsquish loves Air Bud: World Pup!
- Our buddy Jason Harris makes a guest post on Lucid Screening and gets Nude for Satan.
- Flickhead falls under the spell of Teen Witch.
- Tuwa goes on an excellent adventure with Bill and Ted.
- Annie Frisbie zooms in on Jim Hensen's Tale of the Bunny Picnic.
- Pat Piper has fun with Michel and Paulette playing Forbidden Games.
- It's Nilbog or bust for Andrew as he casts his critical eye upon Troll 2.
- Goatdogblog is Making the Grade.
- Our very own Tram takes a look at Riki-Oh: The Story of Ricky.
- Chris Stangl discovers the true meaning of horror when he watches The Texas Chain Saw Massacre the Next Generation.
- My review of the terrible film The End is finally up.
- Casey confronts Minoes: The Paws of Fate despite his cat allergies. That's the sort of heroic action we here at Lucid Screening don't even think twice about.
- Rufus navigates Dark Harvest 2: the Maize and emerges pissed off.
Note: I'm sorry about all the horrible wordplay in this post but I just couldn't help myself...
