Old Joy on DVD
A couple reviews
With Kelly Reichardt's Old Joy due out tommorow, May 1st, on DVD, I thought it might be worthwhile to point to a few reviews by our team here at Lucid Screening.
The first is by Tram, who reviewed the film back in June while it was still in festivals. "...I sadly realized that the world I was living in was simply an extension of Kelly Reichardt's world full of disillusionment. The spirit of Mark, a liberal who spends most of his days tuning into Air America transmissions, quickly hovered over me as I crossed the street."
The second I did recently for my work's blog. "Watching it, I couldn't help thinking 'For better or worse, life is really like this.' While I'm not where Mark and Kurt are in their lives, I have friends who are - and if I'm not careful, I might find myself there too, political obscurity and all."
Enjoy! Ha ha...

It's always good to see singers crossing over into movie roles. This is especially true when they provide music to the film's soundtrack. Take for instance the movie Once. Glen Hansard of The Frames acts and does the film's soundtrack and it is breathtaking. Go buy the soundtrack.
