Paris, je t'aime
New trailer released online

Paris, je'taime, a collection of 18 vignettes that pay homage to the City of Love, finally premiered at Cannes a few days ago. Watch the strangely addictive trailer (it must be that song!), as well as a behind-the-scenes featurette, right here.
Conceived four years ago, the long delayed — and much awaited — project has experienced its fine share of changes. Jean-Luc Godard, as you may have heard, was famously attached to this project for a while. Other familiar names that were once slated to direct a short included: Woody Allen, Agnès Varda, Michel Gondry, and Sally Potter.
And in what is perhaps is the biggest controversy stemming from a Cannes entry so far: both Christophe Boe and Raphaël Nadjari had filmed and completed their own segments — only to have their works be cut from the Cannes print (as one Cinematical reader sharply pointed out: the 20 shorts represent the 20 arrondissements of Paris). A battle between two of the film's producers is currently brewing.
The final roster of 18 directors, nevertheless, remains impressive. Oliver Assayas, the Coen Brothers, Gus Van Sant, Tom Tywker, Alfonso Cuarón, Walter Salles, Alexander Payne, and Christopher Doyle are just amongst the handful of acclaimed directors who have contributed to the film's 18 segments.
